US - Non-Immigrant - Work Visas

There are a number of visas for those who wish to live and work temporarily in the U.S. Temporary work visas include:

H visas – for skilled and technical workers, nurses, physicians, and fashion models.
L visas – for intra-company transferees, where the employee to be transferred has been continuously employed by the branch, affiliate, or subsidiary of the U.S. company for one of the last three years.
E visas – for management or executive employees and employees with specialized knowledge who will work for a foreign held company owned by nationals of certain treaty countries.
O visas – for workers of exceptional ability who have demonstrated excellence in their field through published works, international awards, and published materials about the applicant in professional, trade or media publications.
R visas – for certain religious professionals.
