United States AttorneysBret Roberts graduated from the University of Washington (B.A. Speech Communications, 1998) having been simultaneously employed full-time as a security officer during his studies. Prior to attending law school, Roberts served as a Sergeant-Supervisor for University of Washington Medical Center Security and as an apartment manager in Seattle. A magna cum laude graduate of the Gonzaga University School of Law (J.D., 2008, winner of the Linden Cup), Roberts clerked for a Superior Court Judge and served as a volunteer intern at the Spokane County Prosecutor’s Office. Roberts successfully practiced law as a Rule 9 Intern with University Legal Assistance, including a successful property recovery appeal to the WA 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals, consumer protection claims and Federal fair housing litigation. Roberts is a member of the Washington Bar Association, American Bar Association and American Immigration Lawyers Association.
